National Conference 2011 World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The International Labor Organization celebrates every year the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April to promote prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases.

The events organized on the World Day for Safety and Health at work include:

  • INCDPM and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) organized the Regional Seminar of Information within the Project “Safety and Heath at Work: Premises for Competitiveness” for the North West Region between 26 and 27 April 2012 in Cluj Napoca. The event is part of the eight Regional Information Seminars organized throughout Romania and is addressed to managers, entrepreneurs and employers in the HORECA sector. The Romanian and international experts present update information on the enforcement of safety and health at work regulations, examples of good practice in Romanian and European companies on risk management and flexible work in hotels, restaurants and catering.   • On 20 April 2012 at ASTORIA HOTEL of Iaşi an event took place for promoting the POSDRU/81/3.2/S/48872 project on “Increasing the competitiveness, efficiency and occupational health and safety of personnel in the health care sector to ensure better opportunities of participation in a modern labor market”, developed within the information and awareness campaign of the target group on safety and health issues in the health sector.   • On 23 April 2012 at the INCDPM venue, the course on assessment and identification of alternative dangerous substances was developed within the project SUBSPORT- Substitution Support Portal, financed from the Life Program of the European Union (LIFE+) by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment & Water Management of Austria. The course was attended by participants representing authorities, industrial companies, trade unions, NGOs and other interested parties in substituting dangerous substances with products and processes which are less pollutant and aggressive for the workers’ safety and health.
