Purpose:

The development of the conformity assessment services according to the provisions of the European Directives 89/686/EEC, 93/68/EEC, 93/95/EEC and 96/58/EEC related to “Personal Protective Equipment” (PPEs) or to the harmonized European standards associated to the Directives. They are necessary both to the public authorities within the market surveillance process and to the producers to fulfill the obligations incumbent to them as derived from the Directives’ provisions.

Specific objective:

The development of the testing laboratory by the assimilation of new testing methods through the purchase of high performance equipment in direct correlation with the European Directives’ provisions and the transposed national legislation.

The following objectives are had in view within the topics:

• purchasing of high performance testing and measurement apparatus necessary to extend the testing range in direct connection with the European Directives’ provisions and the transposed national legislation,
• assimilation and implementation of the testing method as regards the determination of the dynamic sliding coefficient provided by the harmonized standard EN 13287 associated with the European Directive 89/686/EEC,
• development of the conformity certification services in the area regulated by the European Directives,
• accreditation of testing carried out in accordance with the harmonized European standard.
